What’s In My Stationery Drawer? Part 1

Before I begin this post I just want to say that I’ve kinda always been low key obsessed with stationery, I just loved the idea of having lots of pretty notebooks, pens etc. My obsession with stationery became more apparent once I actually had my own money, which for me began when I started university over 3 years ago. It has now reached the stage where I have to physically restrain myself from buying stationery whenever I’m out shopping which is difficult and I sometimes, most/all of the time, fail. Some people are obsessed with buying clothes, make up, books; I’m obsessed with buying stationery. So here’s a look into my stationery drawer (and more).

As I have quite a lot of stationery items, I’m going to be splitting this ‘series’ into two posts. This first post will focus on my notebooks whilst the second will look at all the accessories and extras I have.

PRICE KEY: £ (cheap), ££ (moderate price), £££ (slightly pricey). This scale is based on my opinion on value for money.

This is a really cute notebook which has a magnetic tab that ensures the book remains shut. I mostly bought this notebook (and all notebooks ever) because it has a really nice cover design. It’s around A5 paper size and is just a pretty basic notebook which was relatively cheap.

PRICE: £ (great value for money)

This is just another basic spiral bound notebook which I have had for quite a while now and never written in. I think this may have been one of the original notebooks from my first proper notebook shopping spree. This is A4 in size and has lined pages so would be great for school/college/uni etc.

PRICE: £

great_ideas_notebook

I bought this notebook because it has a really positive quote on and I probably bought it around the time I was having to come up with ideas for scripts for uni. This is another A4 sized notebook but this has plain paper so great for sketching out rough ideas.

memories_book

This isn’t exactly a notebook, I guess it’s more of a scrapbook type thing but I’ve had it literally forever and haven’t found a use for it yet.

PRICE: £

work_hard_notebook

I bought this notebook because it’s a really small notebook (like perfect pocket size or keeping in your bag on journeys) and it has a lot of pages. Again it has a great quote on it so I was instantly sold. The paper in this notebook is lined.

PRICE: ££ (not that expensive but more than I would usually pay)
SHOP: TK Maxx

paris_notebook

The cover on this notebook has a really cool design and I love that it’s all in black/white with silver embellishment. I also liked this notebook for two other reasons: 1) the elastic which will help keep the book together once it gets full and 2) the lined pages are so beautifully decorated. This almost feels and looks like a luxury notebook (to me anyway). I’m just so in love with it.

PRICE: ££ (but totally worth it for the design quality)

travel_notebook

This is another notebook that I absolutely love. The page quality is incredible and it’s all around a really cute notebook. The notebook is made up of high quality plain paper which is perfect for almost any art project. I will most likely be using this notebook to document my trips/holidays as I feel like it has that kind of vibe about it.

PRICE: ££ (again, worth it for the quality)

purple_notebook

This is another pretty seemingly basic notebook in the sense that it has simple ruled lined pages. The only thing that sets it apart from the other notebooks in this post is that the cover is really intricate. At the time of purchasing this I was so blinded by the beautiful cover that I overlooked the price. It’s not that I regret buying it, because I don’t I mean look at how beautiful it is, I just wish I had a more rational mind over things like this.

PRICE: £££

This was another ‘buy bc cute’ thing but I actually really do love this notebook/journal. Each page has a different quote on and the quotes are split into sections (coloured tabs). The book includes quotes about: courage, beauty, serenity (not the film), dreams, and happiness. This is another general pretty looking notebook that serves any purpose.

diary

Not exactly a notebook but still stationery of some form. I bought this thinking “I am going to be so organised in 2017” but the reality is I haven’t written in it much. January and February were just trial months, March will be the new January okay?

PRICE: £
SHOP: The Works

wow_journal

This journal is super cute and has different coloured pages (all pastel colours). At the start of each colour change section is a quote (hence the Word of Wisdom Journal title). The back cover also has a pouch for putting papers in which is super handy. I made it my mission to write in it daily… that only lasted a few days… March is the new January I’m telling you.

PRICE: £

big_ideas_notebook

This is another notebook that was bought with the intention of actually being used but in reality it just now sits in my cupboard waiting to be filled with little ideas. I’m still waiting for my good ideas to come to my mind. I don’t want to ruin a perfectly good notebook with my stupid rambles (anyone else feel that way as well or is it literally just me?).

PRICE: £

ej_planner

As part of my “being more organised in 2017” mentality I thought it would be a great idea to get a planner. I feel like having a planner instantly makes you feel more organised. I looked up different planners and ended up buying this one, opting to personalise it. Now in February I’ve barely used it. March is the new January?! If I keep saying that do you reckon I’ll actually begin to believe it.

PRICE: £££ (considering I don’t usually buy planners, it was an expansive buy for me)
SHOP: Chroma Stationery

keep_going_notebook

Okay so I didn’t actually buy this one, I was given it as a Christmas gift so this doesn’t count in the amount of notebooks I’ve bought because I didn’t pay for it. I think it’s really cute, I like the colours on the front. I also like that it’s a slim notebook which sets its apart from all of my other notebooks.

I remember seeing this on one of my “browsing only” trips into the shop but ended up buying this and a few others. I couldn’t resist it, it’s such a great little notebook and for such an affordable price.

vogue_notebook

This notebook just speaks to me on an emotional level because I do have more issues than Vogue (although I don’t know how many issues there have been of Vogue). I love the rose gold lettering on the black, it just looks so sleek and well put together. Also it has the elastic to keep the notebook together which I love. It also has a ribbon so you can easily save a page for reference.

PRICE: £
SHOP: Primark

marble_notebook

This is another great notebook with a nice hard cover and spiral bounded pages. I love the marble effect design on the cover, I think it’s very relevant to the trend and the rose gold detailing just ties the whole notebook together and makes it a very aesthetically pleasing notebook.

PRICE: £

robin_williams_notebook

I took a recent trip into town and headed for my usual shop of choice and was pleasantly surprised when I saw this notebook. It stood out completely from the others and I just had to get it. I think at this stage you’ve all realised I love notebooks, but what I love more is a good notebook with a nice quote on and this notebook ticked all of my loves so I just had to get it.

PRICE: £
SHOP: The Works

dreams_know_the_way_notebook

This is another notebook that stood out to me. I love the simplicity of the design but with the quote and font choice and colours it just all makes a great notebook and one that I had to have in my collection. I feel like notebooks like this are usually expensive but this wasn’t expensive at all, it fit into my usual price range for notebooks and I love it.

pacman_notebook

This is another notebook that I technically didn’t buy, I won it at an arcade. To celebrate my birthday my best friend and I had a great day out and ended up in a bowling alley arcade. We were surprised when certain games gave out tickets because we weren’t expecting it. Anyway we (mainly me) ended up winning nearly 800 tickets in about half an hour. When we went to check what prizes we could get there wasn’t much that appealed to me, to be fair it was mostly aimed for kids, but I didn’t want to just get anything. So I got this notebook for like 450 tickets whilst my friend chose some bubbles for like 300 tickets.

PRICE: ££ (purely because I paid quite a bit on games to win tickets)

And the final notebook in my collection is this one which was a birthday present from my friend. I love it so much, I think the font is amazing and think it will be a great little notebook for travels and adventures.

That concludes the first part of this ‘series’: my notebooks. I do have more but they’re just boring plain ones that nobody wants to see. If anybody wants to see any of the notebooks in more detail (like a flick throughs of pages etc) let me know and I might film a little video for you. Which notebook do you like best from my collection? I’d love to hear from anyone else who has a large notebook collection as well, we can bond and unite in our addiction.

ALL VIEWS EXPRESSED IN THIS POST ARE MY OWN. ALL NOTEBOOKS UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE WERE BOUGHT BY ME USING MY OWN FREE WILL. I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH ANY OF THE MENTIONED SHOPS, THEY’RE JUST PLACES I LIKE TO SHOP.
